Report and Score Offers
The 3 Main Credit Agencies try to you sign up for
Credit monitoring by offering Free Credit Reports. However, you might not
want the whole Credit Monitoring solution and would just like to see a single
snapshot your Credit Report and Score.
Below are offers from
the three main credit agencies and MyFico.com, the
makers of the FICO score that most loans interest
rates are based on.
You can also order your Credit Report for free
from the government once a year, however it will not contain your credit score
so we think this is of limited value. If you only want to see a single
snapshot of your credit score, we recommend going with MyFico.Com since they are
the only company that can give you a real FICO score. The other companies
"calculate" their own credit score, but it is not the true FICO score that most
lenders look at.
There usually is not
much difference between the scores, however you
probably would like to get your REAL FICO score
since interest rates on home and car loans are set
on exact amounts of your fico score.
For example, if your
score was 680 with an estimated report, however your
real FICO score is 670, you will pay more interest
on a monthly basis.
Note that
Running Your own Credit Report will not affect your Score.
